MCO to Disney: Mears vs rideshare vs rental car

Last checked: Oct 31, 2026

There are three common ways families get from Orlando International (MCO) to the Disney area. The right one depends on your party size, where you're staying and whether you want a car for the rest of the trip.

Mears Connect (shuttle)

Mears Connect Standard is a shared shuttle: $16 per person ages 10+ and $13 for ages 3–9, each way, and children under 3 ride free (Mears Connect FAQ).

Mears Connect Express is a more direct option, from $250 round trip for up to 4 guests (Mears Connect FAQ).

Rideshare

Rideshare prices change with time of day and demand, so there's no fixed number to quote. Check the app for an estimate on your arrival day, and if you need a car seat, look at the app's options or bring your own.

Rental car

A rental gives you freedom for grocery runs and off-site meals, but parking is the cost people forget:

  • Standard theme park parking is $35 per day, tax included, for day guests (Walt Disney World: Parking).
  • Disney Resort hotel guests get complimentary overnight self-parking and standard theme park parking (Walt Disney World: Parking).
  • Off-site hotels may charge their own nightly parking — check with yours.

How to choose

For a small party staying on-site without plans to leave Disney property, a shuttle keeps things simple. Larger groups may find rideshare or Express comparable. If you're off-site and planning to drive every day, add up rental, gas and parking before deciding. The airport transfer calculator puts them side by side.
